CONQUERING WATER & EARTH

On Saturday, we started our day by shopping at the mall in Roseville. We have a Vegas trip coming up, so we needed clubbing attire. :p We were supposed to be at Sunsplash Twilight, which is their 3:30pm-6:30pm admission, but decided to spend more time at the mall and go during their Nite Slide admission instead. Initially, we thought 5 hours would be much too long, and it would get too cold, but we were there for all of it and it wasn’t too chilly when we left at around 10pm. Thankfully, the park wasn’t too crowded. We only waited in long lines for two rides, which is pretty darn good in my opinion. We even got to go, multiple times, on two of the rides! Of course, we just had to start and end our trip there in the wave pool. XD We also managed to sneak in a few arcade games before leaving! :p

Group photo before we got wet. :p

Selfies are musts! XD

Saw this car parked next to our’s! 😮

The five of us were famished. There’s just something about water making people hungry! Thankfully, Arigato Sushi was still open. We had a hearty dinner before calling it a night. Boy, was I tired when I got back!

—————————————————————————————————————–

I could barely wake up at 10:30am on Sunday since I didn’t sleep until 2am. However, we had to be at Kart Extreme for go karting, at 11am. Karen, Cathy, Alex, and I had bought Groupon deals for this a few months ago. Since their track is mainly for serious racers to practice on, we had to wait a few weeks for them to have an opening. The four of us were quite nervous. Everyone there seemed dauntless! Our Groupon deal was good for three 7-minute races, which were split up into one 10-minute race, and one 11-minute race. I think we were only going around 15mph the first time around. It was quite embarrassing when they told us that we had to go much faster, for the safety of others, before we started our second race. We went a bit faster the second time around, but still nowhere close to the max of 50mph. Oh well, at least we had fun! I think I’ll stick to the indoor ones from here on out! XD

We didn’t look as cool as we expected. :p

Afterwards, we spent the day shopping, eating, and swimming. It was definitely a fun-filled weekend that passed by WAY too quickly. AND we conquered two, extremely opposite, elements in two days. However, I’m looking forward to the rest of the summer!

BACKSTREET’S BACK, ALRIGHT!

We’ve been waiting for this day for a few months now…BACKSTREET BOYS! Since it was Adrian’s birthday, we decided to go to Waterworld before the concert.

We stopped at In-N-Out for a quick bite before heading to Waterworld. I think we were all pretty excited since none of us had gone to water parks in years. Our first two stops at Waterworld were the tide pool and the lazy river to help us digest those burgers. :p The lines were quite long since it was hot out, and also the last weekend before school begins. However, we got to go on all the rides we wanted. I even conquered a slide that the rest were scared of! XD

Still a pretty cute picture, despite the shadow!

Today’s group! 🙂

We left around 4:30pm, went back to Adrian’s house to change, and ate at L&L before arriving at the Sleep Train Pavilion for Backstreet Boys’ In A World Like This tour. Though the concert was supposed to start at 7pm, the doors didn’t even open until 6:30pm. We arrived at a decent time around 6:45pm! :p We had pretty decent seats even though we were extremely far from the stage. One of these days, I will pay hundreds of dollars to be up there and touch them. :p The experience was as amazing as it was when I saw them on their This Is Us tour in Taiwan, four years ago. DJ Pauly D and Jesse McCartney opened up for the Backstreet Boys. Even after all these years, I still squeal over BSB’s and Jesse McCartney’s voices! I can’t wait for Jesse McCartney’s new EP! When he ended his performance with Beautiful Soul, the crowd went nuts!

This captures that concert atmosphere quite well!

We had a view of the Mt. Diablo fire. It looks quite majestic in the background!

The concert didn’t end until 11pm. We were all tired from being out all day, but it was definitely a great day. Though I have five exams and a bunch of assignments due this upcoming week, this day of relaxation was much needed. Cheers to another fun adventure! 🙂

TREASURE HUNT

Since we are moving to a new apartment in two weeks, my roommate and I decided to donate some of our clothes to the SPCA Thrift Store. It was my first time there, and it was pretty cool looking through all the things that people donated. To think that each item there had a past! :O

Next to the main thrift store was their thrift bookstore. My roommate and I spent over an hour in there. It was nostalgic finding many of the books I had read when I was younger.

Image

These three items only added up to $5.40! The books were $1 each, and both are in very good condition. I purchased the workout DVD for my mom, for a measly $3.

By the time we left the bookstore, it was already 3pm. After grabbing a quick lunch at Open Rice Kitchen, we headed to G-nails & Spa for manicures. We both ended up getting gel manicures for the very first time.

My french gel manicure! I love the shine. These should, hopefully, last approximately three weeks! :p

A week earlier, I was invited by New Trent to become part of their testing team. I ended up paying $1.08 each for a $39.95 iPad keyboard, and $10.95 twin pack stylus. Seems like I’ll be writing quite favorable reviews for both! 🙂
